Sasanasabha review: Riveting political thriller

 

Sasanasabha is a political thriller with Soniya Agarwal, Indrasena, and Anish Kuruvilla in the lead roles. The film released in theaters today.

Story: Syamala (Soniya Agarwal) and Rammohan Naidu (Anish Kuruvilla) are opposition and ruling party leaders respectively. They set out to kidnap both sets of MLAs and claim power. But Surya(Indrasena) devises a more wicked plan and kidnaps all the MLAs. What does Surya do with these MLAs?

Analysis:

Sasanasabha is riveting political thriller from the get go. The principle characters are essentially power hungry and they are on a wicked journey to claim power. The plot is relatable to the current day political climate.

The film is powered by fine performances from the lead cast. Indrasena comes up with an intense and captivating performance. He looks sharp and carries the right demeanor for this role.

Soniya and Anish deliver thumping performances and they ably support the rest of the main cast. The background score and the visuals are good. The film is shouldered by technical finesse and strong performances from the cast.

The current day political situation is perfectly presented in a gripping manner. There’s some lag here and there, but as a whole the film is captivating and it packs the desired punch.

Verdit: Sasanasabha is a thoroughly engaging political thriller with a strong underlying emotional thread. It is powered by fine performances from the cast and the relatable plot and narrative.
