How Raghav finds Janaki, with the help of Bajrang aka Hanuman (Devdatta Nage), and the rest of the movie is about how Lord Rama won over Ravana and brought back Sita.

Performances :

Prabhas exudes serenity and ferociousness whenever they are necessary. he with his natural humble body language perfectly suits the role of Lord Shri Ram. Prabhas effortlessly pull off his role. His aura and charisma helped him live in the role of Lord Sri Rama. His regal screen presence can be felt throughout the film.

Saif Ali Khan played the role of Lankesh aka Ravan. He looked menacing and ferocious on the screen. He makes the film look even more fiery with his incredible performance and made a good impact with his expressions and body language. Devdatt Nage as Hanuman is good. He made his presence felt in a few scenes.

Kriti Sanon played the role of Goddess Sita aka Janaki. She carried her role with ease. Her looks and her mature performance add depth to the proceedings. Sonal Chauhan got the limited role of Mandodari and the same is the case with Vastal Seth as Indrajit.

Analysis :

Director Om Raut starts the film with Raavan attaining powers from Lord Brahma. Then the film shifts to Ram, Sita, and Laxman in Vanvas. Raavan’s sister Soorpanakha gets rejected by Ram and Laxman cutting off her nose makes her seek revenge. She plants the idea of marrying Sita to Raavan. This resulted in the abduction of Sita by Raavan. All these happen quickly engaging the audience to the film. Then Ram in search of Sita meets Hanuman and Sugreeva. All these scenes keep the interest and curiosity levels among movie lovers intact though the story is well-known to one and all. Om Ranut managed to increase the interest levels with the good usage of graphics and VFX blending it effectively with the story. The pre-interval and the interval blocks featuring Prabhas make the adrenaline rush setting the tone and increasing expectations for the second half.

But, the second half failed to continue the momentum. It starts on a dull note as the proceedings showcased look bland here. The second half boils down to the clash of titans Raghav and Ravan. The final battle is lengthy showcasing the fights between Lakshman and Indrajit, Vali and Sugriv, Hanuman and Kumbhakarn, and Raghav and Ravan. The VFX too has some complaints but leaves an impression when it comes to the overall experience. The way the final war sequence is shot and showcases Raavan and Lanka seems heavily influenced by Hollywood films. Several cinematic liberties were taken in this aspect.

Music by Ajay – Atul is one of the major highlights. The Telugu lyrics penned by Ramajogayya Sastry gelled well with the music composed by the Ajay-Atul duo. Shivoham, Ram Siya Ram, and Jai Shree Ram songs stand out and are sure to evoke goosebumps. The background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara is amazing. Cinematographer Karthik Palani elevated the scenes with his breathtaking visuals. The VFX and graphics are of top class and are now one of the best. The 3D effects are good in a few scenes. Director Om Raut did a commendable job in making a grand version of Ramayan with stunning visuals. Producers have gone all out without any budget constraints. This is evident in every frame of the film.

Rating : 3 / 5

Bottom Line : Prabhas’ Royal Screen Presence & Visual Splendour Makes Adipurush A Worthy Watch
