‘Vyooham’, starring Ajmal Amir in the role of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, will hit the screens on December 29. Sensational director Ram Gopal Varma has set the story in the late 2000s. The story begins with the demise of YSR and ends with Jagan becoming the CM of Andhra Pradesh. The second part, titled ‘Shapadham’, will be about what happened during Jagan’s reign in Andhra Pradesh over a period of five years.
Producer Dasari Kiran Kumar on Saturday hosted a grand public event named Jaga Garjana. The speakers described the film as a political thriller that explores behind-the-scenes reality. An unmistakable celebratory mood pervaded the event as fireworks were displayed. The song ‘Raavali Jagan, Kaavali Jagan’ was played amid the cheers of the enthusiastic public in attendance.
Producer Dasari Kiran Kumar said that the film is based entirely on true events. “This film is the result of detailed analyses and research. Its story spans about a decade, bringing into the spotlight what nobody knows till now. The film ends with the oath-taking by Jagan garu as the CM, who had established a political party after so much struggle. He rose to the top despite all the odds, machinations and conspiracies. Nobody can defeat him. His governance has stayed true to his party’s manifesto. He is the only such CM in the country. He is pro-poor and has never broken a promise. ‘Vyooham’ will be remembered for long because it is the truth. RGV is my most favourite person in the film industry. Both ‘Vyooham’ and ‘Shapadham’ are pertinent films.”
RGV said that the film is not fictional and that it shows the truth that he believes in. “My film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ captured the truth behind what happened to NTR 25 years ago. ‘Vyooham’ pertains to incidents that are more recent and is a one-of-its-kind political film. It is based on real characters who make decisions with strategies in their minds. I have explored the psychological aspect of events. I am not a political person but I enjoy delving into political psychology. Real names like Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have been used in the film. Lokesh feels that the film has been made to defame his party. Every day, he calls the CM ‘Psycho Jagan’. What a joke that such a person wants to stall ‘Vyooham’ on the grounds that it is defamatory! These people constantly proclaim their love for NTR after doing what they did. This points to their ‘vyooham’ in mind. I call Pawan Kalyan ‘Rangula Raja’. He is a superstar in cinema. In politics, he just follows Chandrababu Naidu. ‘Vyooham’ is pro-YCP. I am saying it openly. My film exposes the mindset of those who make rhetorical, aggressive speeches. They will be figuratively stripped of their clothes. This is a unique film that doesn’t violate any law. That’s why we have received CBFC certificate. Our film is coming out in theatres without fail on December 29,” RGV said.
Minister Ambati Rambabu said, “RGV is one of the most talented filmmakers India has ever known. Since his debut with ‘Shiva’, RGV has proven to be the most durable, pathbreaking filmmaker. He is the only director to make a political film with the actual names of real-life politicians. Jaganmohan Reddy garu, Pawan Kalyan, Chandrababu Naidu… All these names are there in ‘Vyooham’. Names haven’t been changed. RGV is the only director to have done such a thing in the world. A newspaper writes against Jaganmohan Reddy garu as it likes. It is nothing but propaganda. When biased media houses can spread lies without a care in the world, why can’t Dasari Kiran Kumar make an honest political film? ‘Vyooham’ is reality. Jagan garu’s journey started with a setback and ended in victory. ‘Vyooham’ will show how it happened. Lokesh tried to stall the film’s release. From this, I can say how honest ‘Vyooham’ is. Jagan garu is the boldest politician in the country. He is equal to one hundred YSRs.”
Minister Jogi Ramesh described ‘Vyooham’ as a biography of Jagan, whom he described as a true hero. “Even before the release of this movie, there are conspiracies against it. RGV is a national icon. Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh are scared of ‘Vyooham’. They are moving the court and have filed a PIL to stall its release. No matter what, ‘Vyooham’ will hit the screens on December 29. It will go on to become a big hit. Jagan is the only hero who has stormed his way to success with honesty. He didn’t backstab anybody. He did a genuine Padayatra and became the CM. Hats off to RGV on behalf of YSRCP for making this film. I pray for the blessings of Kanaka Durgamma on RGV and Dasari Kiran Kumar.”
Annabathuni Siva Kumar said, “RGV is going to show what we don’t know yet. It was Congress and Chandrababu Naidu who first discovered the true calibre of Jagan garu. That’s why they tried to prevent his rise. They failed. RGV is going to bring out everything through ‘Vyooham’. I pray that Dasari Kiran Kumar garu will mint money.”
Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu conveyed his congratulations to RGV and the team of ‘Vyooham’ for making the movie. “I hope this movie is going to be inspiring. We all have to ensure that Jagan garu wins again in 2024. ‘Vyooham’ has to extinguish the false propaganda and bring the truth to light,” he added.
