After the film ‘#VD12,’ what are Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming movies? Which directors has he committed to, and what discussions are underway?
Recently, Vijay Deverakonda’s first look poster, which he shared on social media, has gone viral. The poster features the tagline, “His fate awaits him. Mistakes.. Bloodshed.. Questions.. Rebirth..” In the poster, Vijay sports a different hairstyle, bloodstains on his face, and a long beard, which has significantly raised the anticipation for the movie. In light of this, let’s explore which movies Vijay Deverakonda will work on after this one and which directors he has committed to.
Earlier this year, the film ‘The Family Star’ was released, marking one of the biggest setbacks in Vijay Deverakonda’s career since ‘Liger.’ In between, the movie ‘Kushi,’ which he starred in alongside Samantha, received an average response. Currently, all eyes are on ‘#VD12,’ directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, which is in its regular shooting phase.
Following ‘#VD12,’ Vijay Deverakonda will immediately start working on ‘#VD14,’ a pan-India film directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Reports suggest that this movie will be set in a period backdrop with a Rayalaseema theme, and Rashmika Mandanna will be paired with Vijay. Given Rahul Sankrityan’s success with movies like ‘Taxiwaala’ and ‘Shyam Singha Roy,’ expectations are high for this project.
After the movie with Rahul Sankrityan, Vijay Deverakonda is expected to work on ‘#VD15,’ directed by Ravikiran Kola. Vijay has already confirmed this project, which will be produced by Dil Raju with a significant budget. Like the previous one, this movie is also rumored to have a period-based storyline.
There is also speculation that Vijay might collaborate with Sukumar after this, possibly for a small love story with action elements. Sukumar is said to be planning this project after completing ‘Pushpa 2.’ However, no official announcement has been made yet.
Following this, Vijay Deverakonda might team up again with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who gave him the super hit ‘Arjun Reddy.’ However, it is expected to take about three years for this project to materialize, but if it happens, it is anticipated to create massive hype, potentially even surpassing the excitement surrounding ‘Animal.’
In the meantime, there is a chance that Vijay might work with Tharun Bhascker, the director who gave him his big break with ‘Pelli Choopulu.’ Discussions have taken place, and Tharun Bhascker reportedly pitched a romantic comedy with a script that breaks the rules and appeals to the new generation. Tharun Bhascker is currently busy with a series of films as a lead actor.
At present, Vijay Deverakonda’s focus is entirely on his project with Gowtam Tinnanuri. He is said to be very confident about this film, where he will be seen as a police officer. The movie is being produced by Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios, with music by Tamil composer Anirudh Ravichander.
