The rivalry between Bollywood and South cinema is heating up, especially after last year’s showdown between Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” and Prabhas’ “Salaar.” Both films released around the same time, leading to a box office struggle where neither film achieved blockbuster status.
Now, as we approach the end of this year, another unique clash is on the horizon. Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu will be voicing different versions of the same character, Mufasa, in Disney’s upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King.” Shah Rukh Khan will lend his voice to the Hindi version, while Mahesh Babu will do the same for the Telugu version.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, this much-awaited movie is set for a multilingual release, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, on December 20.
For the Telugu audience, Brahmanandam will voice Pumbaa, with Ali taking on the role of Timon. In the Hindi version, Shah Rukh Khan will be joined by his sons, Aryan Khan as Simba and AbRam as the young Mufasa, marking AbRam’s voice acting debut.
The film tells the story of Mufasa’s journey from an orphaned cub to the revered king of the Pride Lands, featuring a blend of live-action and photorealistic CGI to introduce both new and beloved characters.
While we hope this clash doesn’t mirror the Prabhas vs. SRK battle from last year, it will certainly be intriguing to see which version of Mufasa captivates audiences more at the box office.
