Two Tamil biggies – Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu and Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu released in theaters today. Both films carried good expectations and there was a lot riding on them.
As per the latest reviews and word of mouth, both Varisu and Thunivu have opened on a mixed note. Neither of them have opened to unanimously positive response.
Varisu is billed to be a routine family drama that appears to be an amalgamation of multiple Telugu films. The film is mostly powered by Vijay while the narrative is beaten to death and bland.
As for Thunivu, this bank heist drama have overwhelming references to Money Heist and it is billed to be an okayish action thriller. Ajith is the star of the show for this heist thriller.
It has to be seen how these films will fare at the box office this Sankranthi weekend. They are expected to fare well at the Tamil box office, either way, thanks to Sankranthi advantage.
