Mrunal Thakur bags a Bollywood biggie

Mrunal Thakur initially ventured into Bollywood but garnered acclaim through her roles in Telugu films like “Sita Ramam” and “Hi Nanna.” Her captivating performance in “Sita Ramam” earned her widespread admiration, solidifying its status as a classic. Recently, she made a cameo appearance in Prabhas’ “Kalki 2898 AD.”

Thakur has now secured the lead role in the upcoming Bollywood film “Son of Sardaar 2.” This sequel to the original, which featured Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt as the protagonist and antagonist respectively, will see Thakur replacing Sonakshi Sinha from the first installment. Notably, “Son of Sardaar” is an official remake of SS Rajamouli’s “Maryada Ramanna.”

Unlike its predecessor, the sequel promises a fresh storyline that stands on its own, diverging from where the first part concluded. The film will be helmed by Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora, with shooting scheduled to commence soon in Scotland.
