‘Kota Bommali PS’ Film Clearly Shows How Caste And Religion Are Abused By Politicians For Vote Banks : Actor Srikanth

‘Kota Bommali PS’ is slated to hit the screens on November 24. GA2 Pictures is producing the movie, which is an official remake of the Malayalam super-hit ‘Nayattu’. The film is produced by Bunny Vas and Vidya Koppineedi. Teja Marni is the director. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is playing a special role in this movie where Srikanth Meka is playing the lead role. Rahul Vijay and Shivani Rajasekhar are playing key roles.

In this interview, actor Srikanth talks about his role in the movie. He clarifies that the film is no political satire but lays bare the reality as it is.

Highlights from the interview:

This is a different concept. Usually, policemen chase only criminals. But in this film, the police chase other policemen. The main concept revolves around how politicians use the police. As a result, the police system faces problems. The film clearly shows how caste and religion are abused by politicians for vote banks. That said, this is not a political satire.

Director Teja Marni has dealt with the subject so well. I was thrilled when he narrated the story. The story takes place in the backdrop of Srikakulam. The story and screenplay are very exciting. The movie never lets you get bored.

Constable Ramakrishna is my name in the film. I learned the Srikakulam slang for the role. The story revolves between the three characters played by Rahul Vijay, Shivani and myself. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is our boss and she tries to arrest us.

The films that I have done earlier had commercial elements such as songs and fights. It also has a good family drama. What happens in the house of a middle class constable is what ‘Kota Bommali PS’ tries to show. Although this is a remake of the Malayalam super hit film ‘Nayattu’, many changes have been made to suit the Telugu nativity. This is the most out-and-out full-length character I have done in recent times.

I have played a role that has a lot of scope for performance. My body language mimics that of real policemen. Technical departments have been handled by youngsters. The design is very strong. Everyone including the direction department, camera department, editing worked with passion. Most of the shoot took place in the Araku Valley. We worked hard on the chase scenes, running barefoot in the night time forest.

You will see rare locations in the film. In the Paderu area, we went to great lengths to shoot in deep locations.

After the release of the ‘Lingi Lingi Lingidi’ song, the buzz about the movie has been on the rise. We all have confidence that the film will also be successful. I used to tell Rahul and Shivani that sincerity is important for any artist. Rahul is a very down to earth person. Seeing him is like seeing myself in my beginning days. Our Telugu girl Shivani also has good characters. Murali Sharma’s role as a politician will be crucial. Along with the character, the dialogues and emotions are all very natural. I am also waiting for this movie. Producers Bunny Vasu and Vidya have made it the film with a clear vision.

Currently, I am doing a key role in the film ‘Game Changer’ with Ram Charan, in ‘Devara’ with NTR and in a film starring Mohanlal. I am also doing a film starring my son, Roshan.
