NTR and Koratala Siva’s much-anticipated film, Devara, is all set to hit theaters on September 27. Set against the backdrop of India’s forgotten coastal islands, the film has been made on a massive budget. Pre-sales for the movie are already performing impressively in international markets. The theatrical trailer was launched yesterday in Mumbai.
As previously mentioned, the film received a U/A certification from the censor board. Some anticipated an A certificate given the intense violence shown in the promotional material, but that was not the case. The most recent update reveals that Devara has been approved with a runtime of 178 minutes (2 hours and 58 minutes).
This is a fairly long runtime, and Koratala Siva will need to deliver a tight and engaging screenplay to hold the audience’s attention. Several recent big-budget films have faced criticism for unnecessary scenes that extended the movie’s duration, so it will be interesting to see how Koratala Siva handles this in Devara.
