Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma play the lead roles in the movie Drinker Sai, with “Brand of Bad Boys” as its tagline. Produced by Basavaraju Srinivas, Ismail Sheikh, and Basavaraju Laharidhar under the banners of Everest Cinemass and Smart Screen Entertainments, the film is directed by Kiran Tirumalasetti and is based on real events. Set for a grand theatrical release on the 27th of this month, Hero Dharma shared the highlights of Drinker Sai in a recent interview.

“I hail from Hanuman Junction in Guntur. From a young age, I was drawn to acting and dancing, often dancing to Megastar Chiranjeevi garu’s songs. I participated in school plays, which gradually fueled my interest in films. My grandfather was an exhibitor and had a theater in Hanuman Junction. My father worked with producers like Kakani Babu Suhasani and Shobhan Babu on the movie Punya Dampatulu. An uncle once suggested that I get into filmmaking since my father was a producer, but my father didn’t want me to enter the industry. Despite having theaters, I worked there for a while and watched films every day, dreaming of the day I’d see myself on screen. After completing my engineering, I started my own business and saw profits. Eventually, I joined Satyanand Garu’s acting institute to pursue my passion for acting. My favorite actor is Prabhas due to his natural acting style, and I believe no other hero has Megastar Chiranjeevi’s grace in dance.”

“I acted in Sindhuram, but Drinker Sai is my first film. I was excited when I first heard the story, which is based on real events. I even met the person whose life the story is inspired by and learned about his experiences. However, we’ve added some fictional elements to the story in our film.”

“Pre-production for Drinker Sai started in 2019, and the shooting took place last year. Our director Kiran, who previously worked as a writer for Maruthi Garu, made some changes to the original story during the lockdown. He worked on this film with great dedication, and the shooting process was very smooth.”

“Aishwarya Sharma, our heroine, is a dedicated actress. While many people get distracted by matters outside their work, Aishwarya remained focused and passionate about her role. Her portrayal of the character Baghi will impress everyone. I truly enjoyed acting alongside her.”

“To prepare for my character as Sai, I observed many drinkers. I am not a drinker myself, but our director took me to several bars to observe their behavior. This helped me understand the body language of drinkers and how to portray it authentically.”

“Producer Basavaraju Srinivas, a close friend of Chiranjeevi, once served as the general secretary of the PRP party. When I shared the movie’s story with Chiranjeevi, he said, ‘It’s good, proceed.’ That’s how our movie received the blessings of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Drinker Sai blends commercial elements with a compelling love story and a strong message. To draw the audience to the theaters, we included youthful content in the trailer and teaser.”

“My father was the first to appreciate Drinker Sai. He praised my performance for the first time, even though he is not part of the film industry. After watching the movie, he blessed me, saying that I will be successful in this field. The film will not mislead anyone about youth. People will understand its message after watching it. The story takes a powerful turn in the second half and will touch hearts by the pre-climax.”

“After receiving training from Satyanand Garu, he blessed me, saying I would succeed as a hero. He even gave an interview about me, in which he shared many positive thoughts. I will always be grateful for his support. I’ve heard many stories now, and soon, I’ll share details about my upcoming project.”
