Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, featuring young and talented actors Santosh Sobhan and Priya Bahavani Shankar in the lead roles is up for release on the 14th of Jnaury. The trailer of the film was released a while ago by Anushka Shetty.
It begins with an aesthetic wedding that leads the viewer into thinking that the onscreen couple is up for a fairytale romance. But no, there is a lot more to the story.
Santosh Shoban plays Shiva, who reluctantly joins a job after his wife Shruti (Kollywood actress Priya Bhavani Shankar makes a promising start in Telugu cinema) gives him an ultimatum.
But he eventually breaks her trust. A benevolent father-in-law and a working wife can no longer be taken for granted by Shiva. Films that touch upon marital issues surrounding money matters and themes like betrayal are rare in Telugu cinema.
This Anil Kumar Aalla directorial will be commended if it gets the emotions right. Going by the trailer, the film has got good character arcs and sensible writing.
Shravan Bharadwaj’s music, Raveendar’s production design and Karthik Ghattamaneni’s cinematography are looking good. Produced by UV Concepts of ‘Ek Mini Katha’ fame, the film will hit the screens on January 14.
