Allari Naresh’s Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam released in theaters today. Here’s our review of the intense social drama.
Story: Naresh is a teacher who is assigned to carry out electoral duty in tribal region of Maredumilli. What are the challenges he faces from the politically sound personalities in the area who intend to oppress the poor for political gains? Will he be able to hold the election peacefully and effectively?
Analysis:
Firstly, Naresh is very honest in the lead role. He puts up an earnest performance in the seemingly challenging role. He is ably supported by Aanandhi and the rest of the support cast.
The director AR Mohan narrates his story surrounding tribals and the troubles they’re put through by political oppressors in a straightforward manner. The core plot is emphasized through the course of the film and there aren’t many deviations, barring the insipid love track between the lead pair.
The film mostly progresses at a sluggish pace, meaning it doesn’t cater for all sections of the audience. It takes patience to sit through this serious template social drama.
The background score and the cinematography are of good quality and so are the production values. The film is mostly fueled by the performances of the cast and the technical finesse while the screenplay is slow paced for most parts.
Verdict: Iltu Maredumilli Prajaneekam is an intense social drama with an earnest approach. Allari Naresh delivers a fine performance but the narration is off paced for most parts. Those who don’t mind the slow presentation and like social dramas can give it a try.
